Abstract

The first record of damage on Pinus radiata (pine) by Proeulia chrysopterix (Butler) in the zone of Concepción, Chile, is reported. Larvae build tubular structures joining aciculi together in lateral branches near the apex, wich they feed on. When ready to pupate, larvae migrate to other branches, building other similar structures for food, pupal chamber and shelter.
