Abstract

An adequate method of in vitro plant propagation of Gomortega keule (Mol.) Baillon, from mature cigotic embryos is presented. G. keule is an endangered endemic chilean species, with a high growth rate. Shoots initiation was obtained after 4 months in culture over the cotiledonar zone in an MS medium supplemented by BAP (0.1, 1 and 2 mg/l) and AIA (1 and 2 mg/l). Three months later, multiple shoots were obtained on MIII6 medium supplemented with 1 mg/l BAP, 0.01 ANA and 0.1 mg/l GA3.
