Main Article Content
Abstract
The purpose of the study was to analyze the management of change within public Secondary Education organizations in Venezuela, taking into account the theoretical support of Vargas (2020), Sanoja (2021), Guevara et al. (2021), among others. It was developed under the positivist paradigm, with a quantitative approach, descriptive, analytical, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional, field design, assuming as a population, the directors and teachers of Secondary Education of the municipality of Maracaibo, Venezuela. The technique was the survey with a 21-question questionnaire with a Likert scale, validated according to the judgment of 5 experts and reliability with Alpha Cronbach, obtaining a coefficient of 0.92. For the analysis, descriptive statistics were applied. The results indicated that the stages of change management are ineffective, as there are difficulties in accepting the unfreezing, and therefore the change itself and the refreezing. With respect to the characteristics of the leader for change, it was observed that communication, motivation, charisma and cooperation are effective, finding lower values in the latter indicator and evidencing different perceptions between directors and teachers. It is concluded that when analyzing change management in the organizations under study, the presence of weaknesses that must be faced, taking into account the position of managers as transformational leaders, generates great opportunities to achieve the challenges established by the education sector and today’s society.
