Abstract

Two echocardiographic windows are described for the ultrasonographic exploration in the equine, one on the right hemitorax and another on the left. Also, the anatomical aspect of seven two-dimensional echotomograms, considered indispensable for the basic echocardiographic study, is given. The imagines correspond to thirty-two, cardiologically healthy horses selected from 4.096 registered images.

The importance of having echocardiographic standardized images, in order to achieve more exact and comparable echocardiographic diagnoses in the horse is emphasized.
