Abstract
The present article is intended to propose a management model based in constant improvement, helping the mid-size and small businessman to develop a ceaseless innovative activity, according to technological changes incessantly under development; hence enhancing flexibility and response capacity when facing a changing environment. The model is generated from a diagnosis carried out in the project “Quality and productivity constant improvement plan, for metal-mechanics PYMEs in the province of Valdivia”. Therefore, the model construction was carried out on the basis of identification of most relevant problems recognized by companies. Finally, a proposal to determine problem priorities and a methodology to rank problem origins and probable actions to face and solve the improvement opportunities are derived from what was previously exposed.
