Análisis de redes sociales aplicado a redes de investigación en ciencia y tecnología

Abstract

The present document expounds a system that takes science and technology researchers curriculums from the SICTI platform in order to generate social networks files, which are used as input to social networks analysis and visualization software (Pajek y NetDraw). First, basic concepts from social networks analysis theory are introduced and what the SICTI platform is about. Next, Pajek and NetDraw software are described and the choice of using them is justified. Next, useful information from the curriculums is laid out, which is useful to generate networks and an appropriated analysis model. Next, analysis, design and implementation of the system which generates networks is explained. Finally, an analysis of the entire researchers’ networks is performed and conclusions are presented.
