Abstract

Microstrain, stacking fault energy and dislocations density of Austempered Ductile Iron are studied by means of x-ray diffraction analysis during martensite transformation. Samples were obtained from nodular cast iron austenited at 910° for 80 min and austempered at 410°. After samples were deformed between 0 and 25 % by cold rolling. Microstrain and dislocation density increases whereas stacking fault energy decrease as a function of deformation.
