Abstract

The production and quality of fruits of two cultivars of lemon (Citrus limon (L)), three of orange (Citrus sinensis (L)) and one of mandarin (Citrus reticulata Blanco) on different rootstocks were evaluated on the third growth season, in a cold winter zone (Portezuelo, Chile). There was a low influence of rootstocks on the studied quality parameters, but abig contribution in production, thus, Citrumelo induced similar quality than Carrizo and Troyer, but better than in Clementina mandarin. As compared with Rubidoux, Carrizo caused lower tritable acidity and better total soluble solids (TSS) / acidity ratio in Newhall orange, both rootstocks induced similar productions. However, Rubidoux caused better quality and production characteristics on Valencia Late orange. In Genova lemon, Citrumelo and Macrophylla induced similar production and quality levels. In Limoneira 8A fruits, Flying Dragón increased TSS and acidity, while Citrumelo caused better production.
