Italo Calvino's If a winter night a traveller: a post modern metaphor?

Abstract

This paper discusses the concept of post modernism and proposes Calvino's novel If a winter night a traveller as a text written in the context of post modernism, basically by considering the organizational textual strategies which generate its construction and carry both an implicit new conception of the novel genre and a metaphorical change in the conception of the traditional world.
