Abstract

The micro story, whose role is to reduce its multiple meaning, has textual conditions to make a reader competent. The open and rhetorical characteristics, its incomplete narrative situation, and its unpredictable and abrupt end encourage a semiotic hyper coded reading activity.
The purpose of this paper is to study the influence that some of the principles of the micro story exerts on the reading activity. We state that the sender and the receiver of the micro story are textual strategies inscribed in the text in order to produce meaning pertaining to the genre. For this reason, we have considered that brevity, transtextual characteristics and fragmentation are strategies of the sender to better develop the cooperative activity of the receiver, these being the sub-codes that give instructions for the interpretation from which the reader makes inferences.
