Thinking about the poem and teaching poetry: dialogues with Sergio Mansilla Torres
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article is situated at the crossroads between the field of reflection on poetry and the research line on teaching poetry. The essay takes as its starting point some of the proposals of the Chilean poet and essayist Sergio Mansilla Torres on the poetic and its teaching, and places them in dialogue with the voices of other relevant authors in this field. This allows for the construction of a markedly dialogical text, in which the author adopts an analytical and interpretive approach to critically examine some problems that affect many people’s relationship with poetry. This is developed in two phases: reflection on poetry and its particular way of being in language, on the one hand, and reflection on the processes of mediation and teaching poetry in socio-educational contexts, on the other.
