De la movilización religiosa al activismo simulado: La estrategia propagandística de CitizenGo.org como actor antigénero

Resumen

El trabajo explica el papel de CitizenGo.org como actor transnacional central para la difusión de propaganda ultracatólica mediante su plataforma de peticiones online. A partir de un estudio de caso que combina la revisión bibliográfica, el análisis de contenido y el análisis del discurso sobre una muestra de 332 peticiones, se examina la autoría y las estrategias discursivas empleadas. Los resultados muestran una fuerte centralización en la producción de peticiones: el 86,2% fueron creadas por la propia organización. Asimismo, evidencian una función propagandística basada en el uso predominante del pánico moral (88%) y en la difusión de narrativas emocionales articuladas en torno a amenazas, villanos y víctimas recurrentes, orientadas a cuestionar los consensos sociales sobre los derechos sexuales y reproductivos de las mujeres y del colectivo LGTBIQ+. El estudio identifica la estrategia de CitizenGo.org como una forma de astroturfing ya que le permite difundir narrativas antigénero orientadas a estimular el pánico moral en torno a valores de la doctrina moral católica bajo la apariencia de un movimiento ciudadano secular. Finalmente, se discuten las implicaciones de estas prácticas en términos de erosión de la pluralidad democrática en el espacio público.
