Globalization, Nation-State and development: The case of the public policies in Mexico

Abstract
In this document we first analyze the characteristics of the new global era and the status of Latin-American countries in that context. It is specially emphasized the roll of the Nation-State and the characteristics that would be expected from an integral development of the regions. Then, we discuss the case of public policies in México considering the new conditions of the Nation-State, with discourse analysis as our tool. We argue in favor of approaches that emphasize the human side of development.
