Abstract

The objective of this work is to understand the construction of the cultural landscape of Isla Guafo from the main imaginaries and social practices of luga algae divers. Through detailed ethnographic observation, integrating audiovisual media and historical interpretation of the area, we intend to understand how this group assigns meanings to spaces; how their economic-extractive practices, popular religiosity, and individual and collective memories inform this understanding and, thus, evidence ways of understanding the territory which determine particular socio-spatial relationships.
