Abstract

A basic presupposition of the liability for the torts of others is that there is a relationship between the principal and the dependent that justifies the imposition of liability on the former for the act of the latter. In this article it is proposed that, on the basis of its nature, the relationship between principal and dependent can be divided into two series: service-based relationships and care-based relationships. This distinction is key to the proper structuring of liability for acts of others.
