Abstract

A method of analysis using HPLC for the simultaneous detection and quantification of residues of sulphonamides in bee honeys was evaluated for the following sulphamides: sulphamethizole, sulphadimetoxine, sulphadiazine, sulphamerazine, sulphanilamide, sulphatiazole, sulphachloropiridazine and sulphametazine. Acetonitrile with 0.1% TFA was used for the extraction of sulphonamide residues as well as for the mobile phase with a gradient of elution.
Percentage recoveries lie within a range of 49 to 117%, with a detection limit of 0.05 ppm. The evaluated method is simple, fast and reliable within the established limits.
