RESTORATION AND EXTENSION OF THE MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART IN VALDIVIA
Main Article Content
Abstract
The Museum of Contemporary Art in Valdivia is built over the ruins of an old brewery partially destroyed by a fire in 1912 and then finally torn down by an earthquake in 1960. This project aims at honoring the traces found in the site (which recall the 1960 tragedy), building the least possible architectural facilities in order to bring the landscape closer to geography than to the industrial boom of the 20th century.
