Introducing renewable energies in buildings. Priority strategy in the argentinean energy policy
Main Article Content
Abstract
Forceful energy transition is urgent at the global scale considering high levels of greenhouse gas emissions mainly resulting from a strong reliance on non-renewable fossil fuels. Public policies in many states promote renewable energies at a large-scale, as well as distributed generation. This gives rise to the efficient power demand management model known as self-consumption. The Argentinean Republic promotes such model since 2017, with Act 27.242 declaring that the distributed generation of renewable energies is of national interest and calling provinces to adhere. This article is aimed at making a critical analysis of related national and provincial laws. The conclusion is that the Act promotes the microgeneration of renewable energies in buildings, making a contribution to environmental sustainability.
