I Move and Think Like an Architect within the World of Art. Interview with Architect and Artist Alfredo Jaar

Abstract

The following unpublished telephone interview with architect and artist Alfredo Jaar was conducted on April 30th, 2021 –and later recorded and transcribed– with Jaar (AJ) in New York and the interviewer (GMF) in Madrid. It takes place in the context of a predoctoral research at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid concerning experiences of continuity between architecture and contemporary art, facing the crisis of the profession, and where Jaar’s work is one of the case studies.
