Abstract
The main goal of this research paper was the analysis of the labor performance of graduate students in tourism from Hoteleria y Turismo School at Universidad de Oriente. It based on the opinion of representatives of the private tourist industry from Margarita Island, Nueva Esparta State, Venezuela. This research is descriptive, feld-study type. The information was collected through a survey that was applied to the representatives of the mentioned above. The data were organized according to absolute and percentage values. The results show that the employers consider that those graduate students in tourism are able to develop the duties pertinent to the job. The general opinion of the pollsters reveals the excellent performance of the graduates in their duties. It was also determined the lack of some competences, within the research function, such as economy aspects, design of information courses and campaigns to raise tourist awareness into formation, training and recycling functions.
