SPATIALLY EXPLICIT METOD FOR IDENTIFICATION OF AREAS OF PROBLEMS AND APTITUDES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF COMMUNITY BASED TOURISM IN THE PANGUIPULLI COMMUNE, SOUTHERN CHILE

Abstract

An exploratory research was done that collects primary and secondary information,
layers of geographic information, application of Idrisi and ArcGis softwares, that
allow to perform a statistical analysis and geographical data of Multicriteria applied
to Community Based Tourism (CBT), in the Panguipulli comune, "Region de Los
Ríos - Chile", in order to exhibit explicitly the problems that affect the implementation
of this type of tourism in different areas. Some thematic maps were generated
that expose the limitations of economic and organizational factors and lack of infrastructure,
based on the surveys applied to three types of actors involved in its implementation,
the local community, panel of experts and government managers, who applied
relative weights according to their perceptions to the problematics through Saaty's matrix.
