Abstract

Punta Loma is a Protected Natural Area, located a near urban area of Puerto Madryn, Chubut, Argentina. Created for recreational and tourist purposes in 1967, it still does not have a management plan that allows it to determine guidelines that contribute to adequate administration, monitoring and evaluation of its resources. Its territorial reality is constituted by a series of aspects of a patrimonial, environmental, social and cultural nature; that build the identity of the place. For this reason, an analysis of the planning of the tourist territory was carried out, which consists of the identification of the elements that the study area has, recognize its biodiversity, know the legal-administrative management tools that it has, among others. aspects, to provide knowledge about the protected coastal space. For this, a methodological approach was proposed based on the descriptive exploratory scheme, with the realization of documentary analysis on the basis of qualitative elements, accompanied by a bibliographical inquiry on the subject and field work such as direct observation and surveys. The need for a management plan for the area is concluded, and the importance of citizen participation through a participatory conservation policy, for the conservation and management of the area, as a tourist territory.
