Abstract

The communication media do not communicate any more. The information logic has rendered it into a no-communicating tool. The communication media (in)communicate. This is due to the excessive image bombing that circulates in societies re-constructed by icons allied with the artificial formulas of simulacrum. If, in a first stage, the iconophagy was understood as the image swallowing phenomenon performed by the members of contemporaneous societies; giving it a second reading the images are the ones that devour and feed themselves from the human beings. Then, and to sum up, how can be projected a practical exercise of iconorrhea? In order to look for alternatives to solve this pathology it is necessary to see the “new communications” from an indisciplined strategy which stimulates unlimited and iconorrheal manoeuvres. Re-activating, with that, the dialogic question of human communications and sketching deterritorialized and indisciplined traces which can swallow the manipulating iconophagical contents.
