Abstract

This article addresses and makes visible the gender differences that occur in design and artistic disciplines. The gaps and biases that make them possible are shown from an intersectional approach, pointing to discriminations that usually go unnoticed, remain in time, and lead to unsustainable inconsistencies with equality or equity discourses. Several comparative examples that rely on various sources confirm that these differences also occur in cultural and knowledge spaces, which are assumed to operate under higher gender equality standards.
