Abstract

The paper discusses multiculturalism and interculturality in a decolonial option. Decolonial positions are reviewed presenting the shared features, but also differences with other family projects, such as postcolonial theory, subaltern studies and cultural studies, with the purpose of understanding the particular reading and critical assessment that the decolonial positions allow to carry out on the existing multiculturalism. Finally we discuss about critical interculturality, as a possible project that is convergent with the decolonizing and counter-hegemonic aspirations of the decolonial option.
