Abstract

The main purpose of this article is to shed light on the first readings of M. Maesschalck on the works of J. Habermas, which will allow him to take a position on Critical Theory from his previous work on Schelling, crossed by an interest in Afro-Caribbean philosophical tradition, especially the work of K. Lévêque. This will result in a historical repositioning of German Idealism, and the role of religion in social movements that will serve as the articulating point of his later philosophy.
