Abstract

The specialized literature underlines that recently growth of the populist radical right is related to a particular emotion, resentment. However, there are only a few studies that delve into this emotion. Our intention in this writing is to approach a phenomenology of this emotion. For which, in the first place, we will analyze the different interpretations of resentment. This task will allow us, in a second place, to point out the features of the politics of resentment of the contemporary populist radical right. Finally, we will reflect on one of the most harmful consequences of the politics of resentment, the transformation of political incorrectness into a great political virtue. Political incorrectness that, together with affective polarization, is the greatest danger to our democracy.
