Abstract

 






The situation of the market of organic certified chilean products was described and analyzed through the information collected from a group of 27 organic producers. The descriptive statistic was used to analyzed the results, which were obtained by structured static surveys.
The results of the supply, commercialization channels and demand of a group of organic farmers showed the growing potential of this kind of market as well as its main characteristics.
The chilean organic production specially goes directly to foreign markets like United States, Europe and Japan. One of the greatest expectations on these types of markets are the direct relationship between producers and importers, on the other hand the fruits and vegetables production have also opportunities wíth the exportation abroad. Mostly of the farmers on this study have developed the organic production as a marginal crop in spite of the potential that offers this area of production.
