Educational architecture in the works of Fernando Garrido: Between the senses and reason
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article reflects on the educational work by the not very well-known Spanish architect, Fernando Garrido Rodríguez. The text results from the analysis of three types of primary documentary sources: Personal interviews with the architect; revision of his architectural files; and reviews of press of the time. The case study presented here includes two completed applied arts and trade schools plus three other unfinished projects; and three educational center prototypes for compulsory education. The study conducted confirms the interest of an architectural production that inexorably struggles between the senses and reason.
