Roberto Martínez Kraushaar

Abstract

Architect graduated from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, Ph.D. in Urbanism from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany, with a scholarship granted by the Government of Germany. Between 1994 and 2005, he was an Urban Adviser for the City Council of Concepción and prepared the communal urban development plan issued in 2004. Since 1994, he has performed as Urban Development and Planning Professor at the School of Architecture, Construction and Design of Universidad del Bío-Bío, Concepción. In 2014, he was granted the National Urban Development Award in Chile, in acknowledgement for his extensive work as an urban developer and particularly for his contribution to the urban reconstruction process of the coastal border in the Bío-Bío Region. Currently, he is the General Coordinator of the Metropolitan Observatory, established in 2011 by 10 regional agencies.
