Abstract

The interest in recent decades in the study of the recent past in Latin America has meant an important advance in the historiography of the recent history of the continent. What began as a field under construction, today is a story in consolidation. This can be observed mainly in Argentina, followed by Chile and Uruguay. A process that has spread to other countries, such as the case of Colombia. In view of the above, this article aims to characterize recent history and provide a historiographical balance of this field in the aforementioned countries.
