Abstract

The present study to describe the process of construction of didactic materials contextualized, specifically the design of a personage that would facilitate or mediate the learning of economic content in the educational curriculum of elementary school. The work was addressed from the economic psychology, economic education and pedagogy of communication. We worked with two sub-samples for children with age between 11 and 12 years, of school of socio-economic level low, medium and high. We used a questionnaire built ad hoc, we made a mixed analysis (qualitative and quantitative), the first phase showed a preference by fictional personage such as Superman (22%), Batman (18%) and Spiderman (13%). It there allowed designing the personage Super Económico to use as symbolic mediator of the economic contents. Considering economic basic concepts, I design a prototype of text in format comic, which was submitted to validation by means of focal groups. We concluded with importance of the mediation symbolic-communicative of the fictional personages that represent the imagination of children and they act as facilitators for the construction of knowledge.
