Abstract

This article focuses on the contexts of non-governmental organization (NGO) working with migrant people in order to approach their realities from the perspective of University Social Responsibility, and specifically from Service-Learning projects. Through an interpretative paradigm, it aims to know which are the greatest challenges in the cooperation and social action fields, according to those who directly work with migrants. For this purpose, the perceptions of nine people who either work or volunteer in NGOs in Granada are brought together in a group discussion. After analyzing their testimonies, the main conclusions reflect a notable lack of political will in order to implement any measures of transnational social protection, a dehumanization of any processes, an increasing need of placing migrants at the right center, and a low involvement and collaboration from the university field with the migrant community.
