Abstract

This paper is an analysis of the context of the discussion about natural history and the defense built from the academic world regarding the naturalist´s work in crisis, and its echoes in the teaching of the biological sciences. A critical review of indexed literature and historical recontextualization of the term from the articles related to the topic was conducted. The original core of the discussion focusing on the main literature is summarized, redrawing the concepts from the authors. Methodological gaps around the transposition of the problems to recent research in education are then presented to finally discuss the projections and limitations of the approach.
