Abstract

The article calls attention to the importance of the emotional disposition of teachers to carry out the Chilean educational reform. Teachers are faced with a change of paradigm which also implies a change in the professional duties which require a previous acceptance of those involved: the characterization of old-fashioned pedagogical practices that must be abandoned and the explicitation of attitudes, strategies and methods that are desirable, imply a sort of devalue of the habitual work of teachers. Paying attention to this aspect can contribute to the success of the innovation, lowering the resistance to change. The authors give some instances of experiences carried out with this purpose.
