Andragogy and human motricity in the elderly: A proposal for the Good Living

Abstract

This article aims to compare the trends of State policies and social programs focused on the development of human motricity offered towards the care of the elderly in the Latin American population. At the same time, an interpretive theoretical framework was made to recognize the importance of work from andragogy based on good living for the expression of a vitalizing motor skills that promotes the development of situated practices for social transformation. Therefore, a documentary analysis of some State policies and social programs of bodily practices that have been implemented in different Latin American countries (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Mexico) was carried out. An andragogic approach that recognizes the situated and contextual knowledge of the elderly is recommended to generate a decolonial critical look that goes beyond the instrumental use of technology for a care practice towards good living.
