Abstract

This study discusses the results of implementing an active teaching methodology called Team Based Learning (TBL) in a subject of the Business Administration Career, in a Chilean traditional university. A data collection instrument was applied to two groups of students during a semester. The traditional lecture class-based methodology was used in a group, and in the other group the TBL technique was applied. As a result, the statistical tests showed evidence that students achieved better academic performance and a higher learning under this new
methodology. Additionally, students generally showed a greater interest in the course subject matter, more active participation in classes, and the feeling that the teaching-learning process was more effective.
