The teaching: axis and conceptions

Abstract

This study proposes a conceptual distinction between the so called significance axis and the teacher’s conceptions. Meanwhile the first relate to the group of subjects, the conceptions are concerned with the subjects’ ideas. The axis emerge from lexicometric analysis of the teacher’s discourse, collected by recording their oral discourse in the classroom and by interviewing them. At the end, this study links the concept of significance axis with that of habitus in Bourdieu.
