Abstract

This article presents part of the results of a major research that deals with the study of four cases whose aim is the understanding of the Work Professional Groups (WPG) related to the meanings individuals assign it in their daily practice in public high schools and with different kinds of organization. The method used in this research was qualitative-interpretative of exploratory character. The techniques used for the compilation of information were non participant observation and an interview based in a partly personal and group structure. The results show a clear difference between the kind of practice that WPG assume in accordance with the disciplines (in the case of departments) and institutional orientations (in the case of institutional WPG), which also results in a different construction of the pedagogic knowledge in each of the cases.
