The Revista Austral de Ciencias Sociales (RACS) (ISSN: 0718-1795 Online Version) was established by the former Institute of Social Sciences of the Universidad Austral de Chile and has been published continuously since 1997. It is currently a biannual publication of the Institute of History and Social Sciences and the Institute of Anthropological Studies of the Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities at the Universidad Austral de Chile. Issues are published in July and December each year.

RACS welcomes original articles derived from research in the theoretical and methodological fields of the social sciences—particularly Sociology and Social, Cultural, and Historical Anthropology—as well as History. Special consideration is given to works that incorporate a critical perspective from Latin America and the Global South, addressing their challenges and intellectual contributions, as well as interdisciplinary studies on capitalism, globalization, and the environment.

Authors interested in publishing in RACS commit themselves to adhering to the journal’s editorial policy, available in the Editorial Policy section.
