Metacognition: a way towards learning how to learn

Abstract

In this article metacognition is focused as a feasible alternative for training independent learners based on an education empowering consciousness on one's own cognitive pro-cesses and self-regulation of them, from the students' point of view. In such a way, it will lead them to learn how to learn, that is, to guide their learning and transfer it to other fields in their lives.
